Beltrix + another Year 3 class was running at the same time, and the top 4 were from our class! Woots!

Congratulations to Isabel for breaking her record. Pass leh! (:

ACC lesson was slack. Continued to be a little moody, but not as much as the pass few days. Mood swings ____. I was reading Kill The Mockingbird and talking about Singapore and China's education. Tingyu's vocabulary is so much stronger. She thought me a new word: ostracised. (E.g. In Maycomb, those who weren't of the norm are ostracised). And a few others.

Art Club was okay. I do glass art SO slow. We are making glass jewellery now. In the process of cutting glass, I inflicted 2 wounds :( Zhang Rui's plaster is super cute! Mini black cats with red heart shapes. =3

I spent like 2 hours eeks ):

MOODLE DISCUSSION (Y)

Moodle crashed again T_T
I'd prefer AsknLearn.

Let's see the advantages & disadvantages of Moodle
(I may miss out some. Thought it on the spot, so don't expect much)

MOODLE:

Able to communicate with friends directly
Edit your profile page/display picture
Able to blog
Forum topics and homework uploaded are categorised according to subject
All categories are displayed on ONE main page. Easier access.

Server cannot handle that much amount of traffic. Crash often.
Powerpoints take quite some time to load. For some, there are even problems downloading. (in my case, I can't download a single powerpoint. Even when I tried all 3 computers)
The colour theme is ... well, plain?
Problems may occur. Passwords were reset to default (IC) once.

And AsknLearn hasn't those fancy stuff mentiond in advatages, but doing without those will not be a problem. Are those pratical? It has all practical functions required, is more atractive in colour scheme, enables faster downloads of powerpoints, and never did it crash. All these basic stuff is why we need an online portal for schoolwork. Plus, it never crashed.

However, I must go with circumstances and accept the fact that DHS has now switched to Moodle. Permanently (unless a new web is found...). Anyway, problems are inevitable.

I'll LOVE Moodle. But, crashes arent lovely. (LOL)

Haha I meant to blog a long post today but all the stuff went into my long mail to yueqi. XD And I don't have time to blog that much now. She said that people in Canada are CRAZY over Twilight too :o There are 120+ people on waiting list to get that book. Anyway, 3 stuff to describe today:

1) HISTORY TEST WAS OKAY
To Yibei -in silence-, "Eh, history test, you wrote how long leh?"

2) THE SAF ACAPELLA GROUP ARE REALLY TALENTED

Merely joking. We were so comfortable calling one another our real names we didn’t used the nicknames xD

We made up a team called slacker's club.
Student councillors (Prefects) stands for SC
However, SC stands for Slacker's Club (in our perspective).

Rules to join:
Rule #1: Must be so highly skilled at slacking till others do not know.
Rule #2: Yeah, slack, but must get a GPA of 3 and above.

Rule #3: Hasn't handed in homework at least 1 time
They don't allow me to enter the club. According to them, I don't slack =.= HEY I do! =/ Just ask my seating partner, Xin Yi. I am. I'm not qualified eh? Asking me to join the hardworking club instead. ._.

And as usual, these are just silly jokes xD

Yibei and XiaoJun was talking about it non -stop on the MRT yesterday. One’s the president. Another’s the vice president. Today’s ride on the MRT was different though. We were talking about weird stuff like how someone died with a life leech living inside his body organs, how a plant grew out of someone’s eye (he didn’t knew it at first), how someone went for an operation due to a lizard’s tail that got inside his ear. In another case, it was an ant.
We did a mini advertisement for LSP today. Advertising MILK! We were thinking about making a slogan about milk when we thought up of 2 things. One was totally SICK. Another was vulgar.
"Your grandmother's milk. Best milk for you."
"Your mother's milk. The best milk in ever"
Say that in CHINESE and it'll turn into something else XD

YueQi (the one in Canada) will be participating in an event to break the World Guinness record of most bands playing at the same time. It’s an attempt. At Calgary Round up Centre.

Ahaha Music lesson's so funny. XD The rhythm goes like this:

XiaoJun was replacing the words with "yenlin". It turned out seriously weird. XD

Was playing the instruments and chatting with yibei about random stuff. Like:

...and other stuff I can't say :) or have forgotten

Science Project was okay. :)

Yibei's SO happy that she can finally take a break from being the leader of organisation and hand it over to our dear Eileen. :) Yes Eileen Ma'm! While I handed over my GM title ('caus I don't want to be AGAIN) to Timo. Sha was like, "omg?! Timo GM? -laughs-" Biz-Lab was sian. Played around with XiaoJun, Peisze, & Yibei. Mr Jason, can you be leaders for all 3 groups? You're the only capable one. If not, we are lost because... ...

No AEP today. BAD news. :(

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY :D

The teachers got a warning via mail. The meaning goes something like this: Today is April Fool’s Day. Beware of student's pranks. The SCs may change the school song/national anthem to another song (POP! xD). That’s the only example I remember. Bad memory xD

The Taiwanese students are coming to our school for exchange program. The school cheered really loudly. Actually, so far, I think it’s the loudest out of all other schools for exchange program. They were greeted by a live performance (by the band) to play their school song.

AND I'M SO ENVIOUS OF THEIR SCHOOL
Their school song is like super nice cann :D It’s really grand. I like :)
Plus, their school is on the hilltop or on highland.
Sort of like a Chinese version of Hogwarts.
With a really big swimming pool and stuff. So rich o.o
I find their uniform design pretty.
but Dunman High's one is prettier. more formal :D

When the Taiwanese left to take a tour around our school, the 2 SCs started pointing at the Grand Stand saying "omg! What's that? -points points- omg". We turned around, bewildered, Suddenly the words, printed out on big paper, appeared. "Happy April Fools!" - Brought to you by the Student Councillors.

Our class own lol. Nobody volunteered to be the buddy for a Taiwanese. =x
That means, we can play pranks on the teachers. Ahaha~
LA lesson. No need pranks XD We discussed "Kill the Mockingbird". My drawing last minute do one =.= so ugly. I'm the illustrator in the group. Drew a very crude sketch of the Boo Radley house. Pranks for our HCL teacher lin lao shi & SCI teacher Mdm Rozana:
Before lin lao shi arrives, the whole class would hide someone far away. Like in the toilet or a corridor far away from the class. Someone wrote on the whiteboard "2B has gone for PE". Fake I know, but fun. A few people stayed back. Must be more sporty mah =(

And the most honest girl in our class, RongHui, spoilt the joke. RongHui arh, RongHui arh, our fun has been spoilt. Can't blame you. You're just being very honest :) Such a good girl.

And at 11a.m. Shanisca and the others will point out at the class and say "OMG!!!! OMG!!! What's that?! -gasp- omgomg." Lin lao shi fell for it. haha. Apparently, Mdm Rozana didn't, 'caus she read the e-mail (warning teachers of April Fools tricks).

I heard those from ACS or some school once turned over ALL their tables. xD And today, did you heard the Chinese radio? Someone said that he's going to quit his job due to stress or something. It sounded so real till people called in to ask him about it, concerned. In the end, they said to all viewers: "happy april fools!" :D

The TwilightLexicon's so funny they made the whole site appear as if it was hacked and dominated by the Volturi. okay i'm not talking sense

FRIDAY: 4 SCHOOLS COMBINED ATHELTICS MEET @ Bishan Stadium

The bus came super early. I was one of the first 10 ones (excluding SCs) who arrived at the stadium.

2B was sitting right in front and umbrellas are not allowed.XiaoJun wanted to hold an Umbrella and was told to shut it. 'Caus it looks weird. We're the only schools with umbrellas. (reminds me of last year...).

Beltrix got SUNBURNED.
Red like fried apples and brown like burnt toast (weird combination I know)

Everyone was cheering like xiao ding dong. Especially the girls. For WenNing. :D

It was so hot we decided to go toilet break & buy drinks at the same time. But to go out of the stadium, your STUDENT PASS was required. =.= Or any precious belongings like handphone and watches. LOL. XiaoJun and I walked all the way outside to the Bishan Swimming Complex.

Saw GLORIA from CCHS. Ex classmate. She's the volleyball captain now. Propro :D

Didn't emerge first overall but hey, at least we tried our best (:

Been real busy this days ;_;

Monday:
Bought a new camera. The last time I bought 1 was like 5+ years ago.
I've realised that the price of cameras has deflated. ALOT
I'll have to wait for another person to say, "Hey your camera's blur" before I'll buy a new one. Hahas. Maybe I'll have to wait a few decades. XD 4 megapixels to 7.2 megapixels :D

Tuesday:
Had 2.4 km run! Ran the last round with Yibei. Or should I say, walk then sprinted at the end. Haha. At least I ran continuously for 5 rounds. Which is bad ): Got number 20. I'm not too bothered by my NAPFA. Year 3s helped us count our rounds. The senior's in art club as well! yay. The year 3 class also has an NP senior which belonged to the same group as me during Year 1 level camp. -shys away- LOL. XD

I gave my role to him 'caus I didn't want to be a GM =.= We'll be making about 100 pieces of personalised handphone pouches. Haven't decided the price yet. Too ex? =/ I'm going to choose the designs. (: Our groups’ splitting into 3 sub-groups. One sub-group does 2 designs. 35 pouches for one sub-group. I'm going to do only 30 designs ^^

There aen't any hot glue left!!! I resorted to using masking tape T_T

A teacher was doing serious critique on the AEP students for year 5 taking A-level art. Like "Her works scores an A. However, it is not a high A. She should improve the concepts of her pieces. You note that all her works revolves around a limited range of ideas. She should look at things in a different perspective." And she gave examples I can't remember =/ if it was me, the teacher would say "your works are so messy and cluttered" lol.

IT
Drew a computer on Google Sketchup. A 3-D model. You can revolve around your artwork to view from different angles. It was very tedious kay. Who asked me to draw drawers for the tables ._. it took me the longest time. I based my computer table on this:

Received YueQi's e-mail. She says it's -10 degrees there in Canada. she's envious that we have so much homework to do. While she has nothing at all. She'll be spending a whole day in the library reading.

Today's the last episode of "Revolving Doors of Vengeance"
I must admit, I see the show partially because of the main character's looks =x
Eeeek. ._. This is freaky. Considering that this is yenlin.

By the way, I changed the cursor. I know it's tiny. But it's cute <3>

I was born prematured. A baby of 6 months. 1kg+. I was so small my grandma fainted.

A pile of books dropped on the floor one night. I thought the AIRCON dropped.

My most vivid memory of a ghost was when I was 4. I woke up one night and saw a young lady, with a slight greenish glow, floating a few inches over my bed dressed in old fashioned Europen frills staring at me. And I cannot scream or move. Like I was pinned to the bed.

I once thought 1, 3, 5, ... were EVEN numbers. While 2,4,6....were ODD numbers.

I poured water on a cup with the cover closed. it was stupid XD

My hair WAS infested by parasites (fleas or ticks or whatever). EWWWwwwwww

I was shaved totally bald as a toddler. People can't differentiate if I'm girl or boy ._.

On a trip to Switzerland, I managed to scare a donkey that it ran away in fright ><

My first attempt at drawing was to draw a Tornado-like whirl on my Health Booklet when I was a 1 year old. It ruined the page ):

When the TV has no shows on, it will have music (that was last time) and I would dance ballet. LOL. By the way, my brother was the only boy in the Ballet class (5 years old)

KALEIDESCOPE 2008
It’s once every 2 years.
The school spent 20,000 + or something for it. According to what I've heard.

Quite an enriching experience's I'd say. (:

We sat on the track and for those who didn't brought their plastic bags, they're skirts got soaked. Yibei didn't bring her plastic bag so she sat on her legs. lol. But it ached so Eileen got an extra plastic bag for her. She even wanted to pwn her job of leading the cheers for year 5s (being an SC). hah. It's quite unfortunate that we weren't Year 5s or of an older age. They got the privilege to sit on the grand stand. ON A DRY AREA. Hey we're juniors :( We ended up viewing the performance from the side view -.-

While we were waiting for the performers to start performing on the track, I did geog discussion for the IPO system. It's about organic wholesome milk that's ultra pasteurised and enriched with Vitamin D! Here's the performance NOT in consecutive order. (blame that faulty memory of mine) There was Modern Dance - Hip hop. omg Ming Quan's in it! First Chinese Orchestra and Track & Field + Senior Student Councillor, now modern dance. wowow. The Chinese orchestra and Band combined to form a Musical Performance. One of the pieces titled "Fireworks". The rhythms' fantastic. There was WuShu too. (: We expected more stunts but since the floor was wet and they were performing as a group, instead of individually, we can't blame for this lacking. We didn't miss out the Lion Dance as well. XiaoJun covered her head with the white jacket and did a mini lion dance. It was REALY entertaining. hahas. The Chinese Dance (if i didn't quit in P6 I may join that hah) was all colourful ribbons, sprints, and a few stunts. We pity the boys =x Quite an obvious minority. Like 3 or 4? When the performances ended, we moved on to the next venue. The hall. And we realised that lin lao shi has confiscated 3 rubric cubes. lol.

We went to the hall for this concert. There were a group playing Indie music representing the elements water, fire, space, earth, ...etc. The other performance was a lady singing songs (quite familiar ones) with someone standing by her side playing the guitar. It was 10.00 by then so I got to go the Art Gallery to do my duty of guarding the paintings. Nothing much. There were Chinese Calligraphy, realistic animal portraits & large paintings representing the sexuality of a boy's young mind, plus Arts done by Dunmanians. For 1 half hours I stood there "ushering" while I missed out the activities my class did. Like manga drawing. When my duty ended, I tried to find the Beltrixians and ran around the school for 3 or 4 times. -.- Still cannot find them. Reason? 'Caus they were taking the manga course at the very top floor and I didn't think that they would go to such uh... high levels. lol.

We had recess. After recess, we went to teh art exhibtion. Beltrix didn't see anything xD They just went to the other side of the gym and chat, while the boys practised their standing broad jump. We had a 2 hour break before lunch started. o.o I didn't eat my lunch. Just recess (it made me bloated with those roti prata, egg rolls and other traditional food). During the break we went to the computer lab to play (: Yibei showed me her old blog on Baidu with meaningful pictures she found. She surfed for more, and found a mouse made out of red radish (as shown on the very beginning of this post). While I did nothing. Just aimlessly exploring the internet.

After lunch we went to learn the tying of traditional Chinese Knots. Zhang Rui's really funny. We were to sit down in groups (6 tables aligned together) and I sat with Yibei, Peisze, XiaoJun & YuWei. One seat left. So Zhang Rui, who wanted to sit with us this time (instead of sticking to RongHui) sat down REALLY QUICKLY and struggled to shake off RongHui's tugs "跟我坐嘛!" Made Yibei laugh till she banged the table with a really red face. hahas. While the teacher thought us how to make Chinese Knots, we played the game "Murderer". I got KILLED! omygawsh. Peisze's the murderer but I thought Zhang Rui was the murderer. So sorry xD For the Chinese Knots thing Zhang Rui helped me tie 'caus I was hopeless at learning it. Kaleidoscope ended at 2.30pm.

I stayed back with Grace to do RS after Kaleidoscope. To personalise handphone pouches structures cut out from coloured foam. (: Xinyi waited for us. She will be eating ice kachang with Grace at Ghim Moh. She does that with Grace weekly. I went with them to Ghim Moh and ate ice kachang with them. I did something I had done the first time in my life. LOL. Go out with friends for no practical reason. After all, there was another 1 half hours before my mum came to fetch me.

Today's post is dedicated to POPCORN! :D

I was eating popcorn in school today.
While XiaoJun started laughing at Yibei.
And Yibei started laughing at me. (like maniac LOL)
And that whole bunch started looking at me.

I continued eating popcorn.

And they laughed harder.

I was like ._. what's so funny?
Reason: The way I'm eating popcorn =.=
While eating pocorn, I don't glance at the popcorn packet. I just look straight ahead and continue to stuff the POP into my mouth. I was sitting down and staring at the whiteboard while monotonously eating popcorn. I walked to the front. Still eating pocorn. I looked at the texbooks on the table. Still eating popcorn. I walked back...and exploded. POP! "WHY ARE YOU ALL LAUHING?!" ._. (didn't really shout like that xD I said it in the same monotonous voice)

Xinyi said she'll be helping me sweep the floor 'caus I shared popcorn with her. lol. but end up, there's no need to sweep the floor. WenNing had done the job.

And by the way, I was blog surfing. Saw those of other schools.
Some of them have blog purely for the need of arguementative essays.
While some blog about everyday life using super cheeeeeem english I can't understand.
With complex sentence structure.
Arrrrrgh. Gives me a headache.
So since I surf the net more than I read novels.
I'll read these blogs to improve my English.

andandand I want to read at least two chinese articles from the Chinese Newspaper POPcorn (爆米花) Checking up the dictionary for those I don't know. My Chinese is seriously bad. Got to improve. I'll copy by bro by writing down any good phrases. It's going to be tough. I know.

So I got to work harder for my others subjects to pull my marks up.

ZOO TRIP - 25th Feb & 3rd March

We went to the ZOO! :D I haven't been there for ages.
We have to visit for CIP. the 2nd trip was much more fun than the 1st.
1st one was kind of boring.
2nd one was interesting 'caus we went Wild Hunting.

My shoelace kept slipping out. No matter what I do. Even tying a triple knot or tucking in the shoelace wouldn't work. It just slips out. ._. Gah so annoying xD

We went in groups of 5. Grouped with Shanisca, YuWei, Yibei & Peisze! We split up to do the tasks. It was faster, indeed. We saw the elephant show lol. I found Yibei very funny xD When we went to the TV hut, the lights flickered and Yibei SCREAMED. She said the place was damn scary ._. When we went to the exhibit about frogs where it was quite dim (the lighting), she kept saying "argh I'm very scared. If I were to walk alone I would cry. The zooo is so creepy..." I was like "Erm got someone here to protect you." >< We got 2nd for hunting and got a magazine. I got the one about elephants x) Okay. here's PICTURES! :D Mostly about animals . (pardon the spelling mistake in the 1st photo)

Oh and Oh and one more thing:
FROGS are becoming a critically endangered species now due to increasing pollution. they breath through their skin, so polluted air kills them. I got to guard the paintings alone. I'm going to stand around and do nothing. (joking). Someone give me company! :( But I'm not desperate ._. lol.

I'm worried about how my glass art turns out.
Zhang Rui's design make me envious. Mine's too cluttered. As usual.

And I have totally no idea how to do the AEP sculpture. :(
My creativity juices are running out nowadays. It worries me.

I'm going to stay back on Tuesday for the AEP sculpture making (:
Day 7's changed to Day 10.

Remember the time when we visited the National Museum to draw the greek sculptures? yes, practically all were nude. In Dunman High AEP, the only one who got interviewed in our class was her. Here was her response, in the papers:

MSN meeting for LA with Tingyu & Yibei was one of the longest conversations I ever had. Quite enjoyable. We're going to make some stuff like a tombstone & a dead sailor's hat. The hat will be askew! Here's some updates about the tests:

SCIENCE: Got back the test. Quite okay. An A enough :D I could have gotten 20+ if I read the instruction correctly. SO ______ with myself. =( I chose both P & Q to explain when I was supposed to choose only one. Was supposed to follow a diagram for the path of the blood but I created the CORRECT route with the WRONG alphabets (since I created them). argh. But still, happy (: XiaoJun, you're an expertise in science. Awes me with your genius :D

MALAY: I filled in everything except for the portion where you got to fill in stuff like "profit" and "Increase price". For the first time in my life, I guess I understood a whole Malay sentence. lol.

CHINESE: Easier than what I thought it to be. As usual, I have no confidence in getting an A. The cheng yu portion was 0kay (:

The 2C girls are real nice :D The glass sculpture instructors didn't come today so we got to attempt an international competition organised by Japan instead. The theme "Harmony of Man & Nature". I sketched something that doesn't make sense to me. xD Argh. AEP homework. Now Art Club homework. But Art homework is 0kay. Not that stressful as the mountainload of projects I got to complete.

Today was the day where girl guides/scouts need to wear their uniforms throughout school. If it was NPCC day and Cheryl + Alvin where NPCC uniforms. I would feel so CCA-sick. LOL.

BIZ LAB PUBLIC SURVEY

At a lost of what to do at first...

Started searching for any friendly looking people who wouldn't reject doing our surveys. It seems like Caucasions are the friendliest ones who give the most constructive comments. No bias here. It's totally true.Spotted a potential survey fella'...
Gathering the courage the ask those strangers.

1) Some require us to talk in pure Chinese. Which was hard for me, but good for yibei. If they only understood hokkien or cantonese that'll be even worse.

2) A bunch of boys gave us a comment "Be attractive" Yeah it's true but um...it sounds so wrong.

3) We got a fella' from the stall to do the survey. Upon hearing that DHS will me moving back to it's original campus next year (or very late this year), he was like "Wah than I'll lose some loyal customers."

4) A fella wrote in English, but in a scrawl so messy we can't make out what it is. lol.

Walked back to school and discussed with Tingyu more about the ideas. We may be doing personalised notebook and stationary.

And I had this VERY enriching msn conversation with Teng Da purely about GEOG revision. I wanted to save the conversation in microsoft word but the _________ dog stepped on the power and the whole conversation was lost. So sad and angry right now.

National Museum of Singapore
AEP outing

Went to the NSM today to view the Greek sculpture exhibition from Louvre. After China and Japan, Singapore was the 3rd to get the sculptures so it's a very rare opportunity (: We meant to choose a sculpture to sketch during the trip and do a 1 page reflections after this trip. But I just wasted my precious time sitting there, seeing other people sketching while I did nothing XD Haha. I wanted to sketch at home. I chose this sculpture to sketch on:

I found the atmosphere of the exhibition a bit creepy, 'caus other then a spotlight shone on the white sculptures and vases, the rest is all black. Although I didn't sketch anything much, I sat on a chair drawing a random sculpture (the real dawing is done at home though) and the exhibition tour people suddenly crowd around me and peisze. The tour guide was like "You see that the exhibition has attracted a lot of students. it's great that these 2 choose to sketch this sculpture. Look at the ....(blablabla about the sculpture)..." Her accent's very nice ^^ Not caucasion acccent though. I was like O.O Anyhow choose one leh XD. And Yibei got chosen to be INTERVIEWED by NEWSPAPER REPORTERS (i think). :O Out of everyone, she was chosen. wowow. She then asked them to interview our art teacher instead. Hah.

After staring into empty space for like one half hours, we were dismissed. One of the Top 5 contestants of Singapore Idol season 2 was outside the exhibition (no idea why he's there xD ), joakim gomez, and few of my classmates went "omg so hot cann" and took pictures. Fetched home by mum and started revising 9.30pm for Science test the next day. I was having a very bad flue and a headache, so I reckon not all info went into my head. I had a mild fever the next day. So as expected, the Science test killed me. I think I got the 2nd portion all wrong. 10+ marks gone. =( So upset lor.

Oh and mum says she'll be considering an MP3 for me 'caus she saw her friend's daughter getting it. I was like "Mum, I have totally no interest in ANY song so MP3 is not really that practical". It's like uh the width of 3 fingers and can take pictures and videos too. 5 megapixels. I don't know what's so good about that. I already have a camera that can take videos and i don't really use it

Went to PE class without wearing my school uniform (in improper attire) so Mrs Chew (a.k.a. Ms Tan) asked me to time my classmates as they jogged around the track. -_- And if I don't do my job well, I got to run 8 x 30 rounds around the track. (I think I got the digits wrong, but it was around there.) Though she's obviously joking. I feel so slack lah, see my classmates jogging/running while I stand there take timing. Wah then when one whole bunch of students pass by must I say "7 minutes 21 seconds 4 SPLIT seconds, 7 minutes 21 seconds 6 SPLIT seconds...etc." XD I rounded off but yeah it went like this "8 min 55, 56, 57, 58...........GOGOGO".

We played a game for Language Arts today! It benefited me and everyone else alot, because I got to understand poetry devices better. You got to get someone as a partner. I got TINGYU!!! :D Her LA super pro one kay so good for me and good for her too. ^_^ Hehe. The game goes like this:

***ALL LA NOTES ARE KEPT. NO BOOK-REFERENCE

1) Partner B goes out in front
2) Teacher show partner A a poetry device written on a piece of paper, but Partner B cannot see what it is
2) Partner A, according to the poetry device shown, must say the definition of the poetry device / construct and example of it and Partner B must GUESS what the poetry device is.
2) Another version is to ask Partner B to spell out the poetry device.
3) If Partner A cannot say the meaning or example clearly, or do not know how to explain, or Partner B guessed or spelled it wrong, the pair will get zero points. However, if guessed correctly, they will get one point! :D

Yeah so I was the one who explained the meaning while TingYu guessed the poetry device. I got:

-personification (define meaning)
-parallelism (create example)
-dialect (spell)

Peisze's group, Marcus group, and TingYu's group got the most points in the end so me and the others got to go infront to do the "finals".

End up there was no prize

But the prize is that we understood poetry devices better! :D

Went to Novena, Velocity, and YouE Square to shop today

They're actually 3 shopping centres adjoined together

And the lovely shop assistant jiejie pierced the earrings I bought directly through the earhole. Lucky it had not closed, though it's almost one year I've gone without wearing any earrings because we aren't allowed to wear earring during NPCC and I was too lazy to put it on. But it was pain okay ): Bought 3 sets for $5. Also got new clothes (: I tried not to burst the price tag at $50+ per piece. Bought new shoes too. My foot damn freaking long lah. The width is okay but the length so long -_- from size 7 become size 9. Next time I'll have trouble finding shoes for myself 'caus the shop doesn't have my size. lol. Spent like almost $300 on everything. o_o

Oh and Happy Birthday in advance to Sha.

Cutting a circle is hard kay We're learning glass fusing. But we have to learn how to cut glass first. I didn't know there's so many methods to cut glass O.O. Stayed back to do the AEP cast thing but I didn't do much because I have NO idea what to do. Talked to some seniors. Met AEP students from 3A ^^ And a girl called Deborah (pardon for any spelling mistakes). Then went home.

Cross stitching is interesting xD

In the middle of cross stitch the boys from another class were talking about "vice" and yibei was like asking me "What's vice". I never explain to her, just told her it's disgusting. Asked Elizabeth to explain to her. xD I didn't want to say the word. lol.

Stayed back for Chinese New year decorations! :) We thought we were decorating a wall so we came up with a VERY innovative design. Ended up we were suposed to do only the raillings so the dream was shattered. But nevermind lah. (: It ended nice too. every single one of us Beltrixians are to draw a picture of a mouse. I drew a mouse the shape of a cracked egg with a chickling. ZhangRui's one really creative (: Dawn's one personal. Mine was like _______ because I last minute do one. Haha

My birthday's tomorrow but it wouldn't be much of a birthday. Anyway I wouldn't mind.

Haha I did something "inhuman" to Zhang Rui today

I covered her WHOLE face with transparent plastic wrap so her skin can't breath. But I poked holes for her to get air through the nose LOL. Then, covered plaster (used for those who broke their arm) and pieced it all over her face. Covering her nose, eyes everything. When the plaster harden you can get it off and there you go. A life sized human mask!!!

The plaster is not like clay or anything. It is actually a bandage roll which you cut piece by piece and paste onto your skin. When you put water, the bandage will "melt" and mould to the shape of your skin. Then there's the waiting part for it to dry. I think it's actually plaster of paris (though a bit stronger) covering the bandages. :P

Poor thing. It isn't nice to have plastic wrap covering your face with someone touching all over your cheeks and eyes and chin, pasting something white and guey. Something you cannot see. xD

Since Zhang Rui was a perfect mannequin with her prettaye prettaye face sculpted really nicely :D (yeah lah I didn't chose Yibei's face or my face xD ), Yibei, Xiaojun, and Me wanted to mould the mask on her face. But it appeared very tough for her to have this process repeated 4 times (she wanted one for herself too) so Yibei and Xiaojun cancelled their names on the waiting list. So I mould her face two times (first for her, then me).

Went for Chinese tuition today. Damn funny. Guang Lao Shi said she was very hot (the room was a bit stuffy) and me and the other girls all laugh. We were like laughing like siao and the teacher said "Why are you all laughing?" with that puzzled look. I told the teacher: " 就是……性感咯". After tuition, before leaving, Amanda wrote on the whiteboard " Lao Shi is SO HOT :] " omg I laugh even more. Ha Ha. Amanda's the girl from RGS who scored 271 for PSLE. Pro eh?

And we got to write a composition on the spot (about our own life) and I wrote about transferring from NPCC to Art Club. :P A bit sad lah but nevermind. Amanda exclaimed "OhMyGawsh Art Club is damn cool lah. My best friend's also from Art Club".

Gloria didn't come today. Maybe got badminton competition or something. Such a small world. She was my ex-classmate during P4 and also in RGS. Yeah because this tuition is higher chinese de. The Sec 3 boys coming for make-up always added sound effects. The teacher's from Crescent Girls School and when she said 90% + of her students got distinction for Chinese and 100% got into JC, they were like "Oooh lala". Made sound effects for other stuff, making us laugh again. :P I know, we're very informal. But that's what makes it fun

You had to fill in your particulars, which includes your social life (eeks) whether you're free from HIV and AIDS and stuff like that. There will be a finger pricking thing to test your blood sample and off you go! To donate the blood. Sit on a chair and a tube the size of a tiny straw will be inserted into your vein (not your artery. Poke artery = death). Some people donate their blood whole while others only donate a portion like platelets or thrombocytes or whatever. You'll rest for 10 minutes and take the refreshments (: Remember to get those iron supplements!

Got shortlisted for the CAP as well. Where you have to go to NUS hostel to stay for 5 days to take courses for writing and stuff. Shortlisted only. It's supposed to be a prestigious programme. I hope I wouldn't be stressful or anything. I wonder if Vanessa got shortlisted. Angelica too :D Their writing are amazing. As I see during primary school. Really, I wouldn't be surprised if they got in. For my class, Sha, Xinyi, Peisze, and Zhang Rui (they only one who got shortlisted with her Chinese stories) were picked. But it's not officially conformed whether you'll be getting in or not. You'll just be considered.

Art Elective Program

AEP is getting more challenging.
We had to do a worksheet on 3 different artworks. (e.g. What is the artist trying to convey? How does the media affect the...) I was writing a paragraph for each and ended up being one of the last few to finish. ): I'm so slooooow.

For homework, we had to search to website, deviatart, for traditional paintings to reflect on. The reflections will be sent via e-mail to the teacher. I chose abstract as there were much to write. haha.

So many paintings. One little option.

I'm going to choose the 3rd painting (see left) 'caus there's a short explanation along with it. Makes it so much easier. x) If not I'd have to rack my brains to think of the meanings.

Can't wait to visit the Blood Bank this Friday :P

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Yikes. heard that most of the girls in Year 2, like 90%, that is, cannot do a single incline pull up because of uh...I'm sure you all know. Grrrrr. I've done 16 last year and this year, none. Maybe because the bars of the fitness ground were a little too high. Those girls who passed in our class were YuWei, Chervelle, and Elizabeth. Cheryl may be classified under mian qiang category. Whether or not she passed, it is not conformed. All with extremely slim build. For YuWei and Chervelle, small. If the day on NAPFA comes, I'd rather have the lower half off my body gone while I did the incline pull up. For now I could do an easier form of pull up. With one leg bent. ):

By the way. ACC lessons are interesting if you listen carefully. So shut...remain quiet and listen when the teacher talks.

ART CLUB

FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!
One of the groups were melting wax on a portable stove to mould and the stove abruptly burst into flames. Fortunately, the table was of glass, not wood or lined with newspapers. In no time the room was filled with smoke and all art club members were evacuated. Some people took pics using their phone. Reminds me of the 2004 tsunami where tourists were too late to escape due to their time spent on picture taking. They even called in the office to extinguish the flames. It was gone in no time all thanks to the fire extinguisher. Interesting thing about today:

It's the first time in my life I've seen a real fire accident, real life
And I don't mean mini fires from teeny weeny matchsticks

It's also the first time I've seen a fire extinguisher in action.
In the past, I could only sit in class and wonder how the blue fire
extinguisher on the wall works

And it may be my first and last time as well

Back to art club activities.
It's my first lesson!
They're preparing for stuff to sell.
'Bit more relaxing to me because I got a bit used to the rigorous training programmes in NPCC. That was last time. Art Club has a total of 50 members from Year 2 to Year 4 (not sure about JC). I can't be that bonded as the girls in NPCC (with only like 8 regulars for girls) but at least there's exposure. And I love what I do

First, I learnt to roll roses using coloured foam ribbons. It's not that easy kay. Mine turned out ugly. To me that is. I was like sitting down on a table with some seniors. For starters, Zhang Rui said it isn't that bad. Lovely roses ^^ It's like $1 - $2 per piece. Every single one handmade with <3>

Zhang Rui's hilarious, Very.

She painted a picture of an arrow missing a bullseye.
For fun, and out of boredom, she added
"Miss Yi bei"
Hahaha you'll laugh if you understand.
Yibei is the bulls eye. ZhangRui tried to hit an arrow onto the bulls eye of Yibei but missed. If she painted the arrow hitting the bulls eye. I would be MAD. In other words, MAD with laughter.

And :* my mum personally came to the art room to look for me because we were dismissed late. sheesh. ): But 0kay lah. ~~I'm getting new spectacles. Begging to go the optician. finally.new specs after 1 half years. Break record le. The longest I went is 9 months without changing.~~

EDIT: I went to the optician and after 1 half years the degree of my right eyes increased by like only 25 xD. So there's no need to change

Kay here's Robert Pattinson playing the role of Edward in the upcoming Twilight movie. You'll know what I'm talking about only if you read the book. That's what I was squealing about in the previous posts. lol. Kinda' hard to accept it at first but it grew on me.

NPCC ~~my last one~~

Had NPCC activity on Friday and had a long talk with Ms Seow. I feel like crying, really. I'm going to miss my squadmates so much, especially the Nu3 Dui4. My squadmates don't know about this yet. (Unless they read this post) But I'll get over it. lol Zhang Rui's so funny. I haven't even officially got into art club yet and she pulls me over persuading me to go to art room for art lessons. Okay I'll shall not elaborate much about this. Suffering from "post-leaving trauma"

Went to Popular today to buy the pink file for Science. Bookshop's one is out of stock. omg pink is that popular? Someone mentioned about having Barbie doll cover for it but thankfully, it became birds and butterflies. I mean, the theme. Got the assesment books (I still need to buy more next time), dian1 zi3 ci2 dian3, one for home use and class use. The home use one cost us almost $200. Originally almost $300 but dicount $100. Another lady was looking at those $500 - $600 one O.O Mum got flustered because there was insufficiant assesment book to choose from. It got scary. ): But I just remained quiet and said nothing. Hehe.

okay I'll just do a super short summary of this week. I have no time to do much decoration for this post because I'm rushing to get the pile of homework done. Tuition is adding to the stress.

Monday (6/1)

CCA orientation! :D Stand up the whole way from like 7.30 - 1.45pm to usher the Year 1s. Plus the punishments and stuff. Ushering...was not too bad. We can't say any bad things and try "brainwashing" them. So as we called it. I think I was partially brainwashed too 'caus I last minute changed by CCA to NPCC 1st choice. Here's some of the questions:

"You're an NCO right?"
(uh?I'm only Year 2 ._.ll Haha)

NPCC isn't a S.T.A.R. CCA right?
(duh xD, it's the C.H.A.M.P CCA)

What do you do during training?
(this is the hard part. It's kinda' tough actually lol
I said the truth but added...the NCOs will slow down for you if you want though. If you don't feel well no need to continue pushing yourself. At least this' the truth right? They will ask who isn't feeling well then no need to continue.)

Is it fun?
(Depends. I just told them "Yeah, super fun one. Got lots of outings, Talentime, Year-end trips, camps...etc.)

And lots more questions which I'm not typing because I got lots of homework to do.

I was out the whole day yesterday so today was the 1st official "reunion" with classmates. Buahaha I lent Twilight to YiLing and Chervelle and now both are in love with Edward.

Took my height and weight. I STOPPED GROWING! omg. at 1.65m Grrgrrrgrr ): No wonder I was wondering why my weight had not changed at all since last year. Last year. 47kg. This year. 47kg. And I have to maintain this weight all my life. Impossible.

The PE teacher was really funny. She knows how to joke. Congrats to Timothy who just started his growth spurt and is now 1.79m and growing.

The Science teacher is really funny. She is sooo cute. <3

And why am I sitting with the same person for another year. o.o He chose to sit here because of Wei Jie. But now at least got WenNing behind me. Byebye to the cuteness of Marcus and ZhengRui scratching each other is catfights.
lol actually nevermind one lah just that shutting up throughout the lessons is seriously no fun.

We had a briefing and I decided to choose IvP! innovation program. or innovative program. or ... whatevere hahas. But it seems the most stressful one out of all 3. the other 2 is Future problem Solving and Bizlab. At least our prototypes get sponsered by 3M. Whoots. With Yibei and xiaojun.

AEP was great! We got to edit barcodes into rather creatuve stuff. Like turn into candles or something. I made music notes and the long locks of someone's hair. Mrs Goh said it's nice lah but I think it's just normal only. Yibei has to BEST drawing! (hahas I'm joking. She has very creative imagination. She drew barcodes into black poles standing on a black circle and more) And XiaoJun is her sole interpretator! i was laughing like siao during the lesson. XiaoJun + yibei = very hilarious conversation

Orientation 2008 was a blast (: Last year's theme for us Year 1s were "Where stars are born". This Year, for us Year 2s, it's "Where constellations are forged. Heard that the theme for this year's new students are the Olympics. Woah. We got to know of our Groups we were in.

{ DHS X'plore! }
-consists of racing around the WHOLE of Singapore's checkpoints via pure public transport and guessing using clues provided to guess our next checkpoint. One task for each checkpoint.

The race stars. In order to leave the school, the group must cut out both Chinese/English words from newspapers to form the Chinese and English paragraphs we were given. It took so long the SFs decided that completing 80% of the paragraphs were enough.lol.

1st Stop: Chinese Gardens
Clue: An actress with a circle drawn around her

We got to type an sms message without using a dictionary with perfect punctuation and capitalisation within 20 minutes or so. The message was like super long (In terms of an sms):

"In ancient times, 入云塔, originally a simple tower located beside a temple, was used for the keeping of human bones by Buddhists. Later, with improvement in architectural skills, incorporated with the traditional art of building, the pagoda was developed into a structure of striking architectural beauty."

2nd stop: Biopolis
Clue: A teacher saying: "I don't teach physics or chemistry, only biology." And a police car with a whirling siren.

We were given a picture of a close up sculpture outside the Biopolis centre. It turned out to be a giant sculpture of a metal dandelion, which we were to take a picture as a group beside it

3rd Stop: Lau Pa Sah
Clue: A picture of the clock tower beside Lau Pah Sah

This was our favorite checkpoint. We got to take a group picture together with tourists from 2 different countries separately. Coincidentally, a group of tourists crossed the road (my it was a HUGE group) and we asked for the favour. We managed to get both Russian and European tourists take a photo with us. The woman from Europe was particularly enthusiastic about it. In fact, very enthu, I'd say. It was like super cute :P That's what made this checkpoint so fun

4th Stop: Vivo City
Clue: A paper showing 0 <>>1<>>?

We had our lunch there in a fast food restaurant. We were the 11th group to report there (: Not too late. I ordered vanilla smoothie to drink and nothing to eat, so (I) shared French Fries with sauce that tasted like cheese and curry with Crystal. It ended up that everyone became too full to finish their meal so they da bao

5th Stop: 328 Katong Laksa
Clue: A super complex Year 2 problem sum which equals to 328

This was the most frustrating stop. We ended up going to the wrong place, back to Biopolis =.= Going to Biopolis was exhausting because you need to climb up a steep slope which made our already aching legs ache even more. They didn't have Laksa there and we wasted our time going to the stop. But they gave us a chance and asked us to order Laksa from the Biopolis food court. Problem is, there isn't any Laksa. So we ordered Tom Yam soup with noodles, tried shaking the camera so the tom yam appeared milky like Laksa, and ate finish the stuff. It was a little hilarious about what we did to make it appear like Laksa, especially the picture that we took using the shaky-on-intention photo. XD

6th Stop: Suntec City
Clue: A drawing of buildings & a small water fountain inside a greenhouse shaped like a sun with the words "Solar Technology"

We went to the area where they sold the Duck Tours tickets and calculated the price of the number of adults and children of a family at different ages when they buy tickets. Hypothetically, of course. While we were calculating,our SF received an sms to caution us not to run without looking, 'caus one of the groups knocked into an old lady which ended up to a trip to the hospital. Scary eh?

7th Stop: UOB Plaza
Clue: The three words: Understand Our Badge

This was the most funny checkpoint. We were to find the Giant Bird Sculpture by Fernando Botero and do:

Squat for 2 minutes with your arms held out like a chicken
Do the chicken dance 2 times in front of the sculpture

Ohmygawsh. In FULL VIEW OF THE PUBLIC. We chose 2 over 1, because it was less humiliating. Haha. We did it in like under 1 minute XD It was the task we completed in the shortest time.

8th Stop: Lot 1

Yay I'm so happy it's our last stop I didn't notice what the clue was! lol.

We were to solve Chinese riddles created by the SFs. I think. It was tricky so everyone called/sms their parents, chinese tutors, good china students for help. It did help a lot (:

-consists of building under sweltering hot sun with sunburns, and pouring rain which showers go on and off, causing us to go in, out, in, out of Shelter. BUT IT'S FUNNN! :D

Started with drawing the sketch of the sandcastle in the hall. Dawn was the supposed designer but got to get the role of the Mayor for the Red Zone. She said being a Mayor isn't that fun at all, stressful. Lin Lao Shi kinda' saboed her. Xinyi couldn't take the role, so she looked at the nearest girl next to her. "Dawn" then immediately turns to the teacher telling her Dawn is the mayor without waiting for an answer. xD

So now I was the one drawing. WenNing and Chervelle were the ones who thought of the creative ideas. Helped a lot. I did the worst drawing of my life. A purple marker drawing of a castle that looked like a simple outline done by a primary school child. lol. No details at all. hey but after all, it's just a sketch, isn't it?

Those professional architects freak me out with their drawings. Serious. I wonder who designed the Esplanade. Or even scarier. Mult-million dollar projects like the upcoming resort. In other words, the huge gambling resort for tourists. Coming in few years time.

We went to East Coast Beach. It kept raining and stopping, so we had to go in out of the shelter. Lunch was fries, burger and apple juice. Couldn't get better than that.

And we built out sandcastles using moulds and stuff. Just take a gigantic mould of sand and pour buckets of water on it to make it solid. Even if there was someone jumping atop it it would not crack or crumble. We managed to build the castle on the inside, with walls with pillars at all four sides. The entrance was a grand one with staircases. Due to lack of space and time, we skipped the garden and fountain we were meant to build at the end of the flight of staircase.

The "agents" trying to "sell off" all the sancastles built in the Red Zone were Alvin, Zhen Wen, and Fraser. Alvin, from our class. The others in 2A. Load of old tosh but at haha who cares XD For fun only. Don't mind. Red zone has like 10 or 11 groups so they made many sandcastles like a resort, casino, chalets, shopping centres...etc. that add to an integrated resort. One group from 2C was paticularly unique with their cute turtle and dollar shaped sand building.

Then ate dinner at food village before going home (:

And gosh why is Roger's Federer pictures pasted all over the store of Royal Sporting House, from grips to socks to walls to almost everything. Except uh...faces. I was like O.O and my bro was like ^.^ hahas. Plus, I went to a Times bookstore and bought a book called The Book Thief. No idea what made me buy the book.

Is it cause on the front cover there is a picture of the Death god in a maroon hood holding the hands of a little girl doing a small prance? x) yeah maybe. Guess what's on the back cover...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Nothing much happened on this day, real life. Online, my friends gave me lots of stuff. Like faerie items, codestones, petpets, cake, plushies, greeting cards, stamps, scratchcards, toys, christmas sock, bottled faeries, jelly, robot wind-up toy, goodie bags...etc. And the inbox practically exploded with mails. Favorite one was a music box at an estimated cost of 200,000. Well so that's it. Thank you for making my Christmas. Especially Susan, Kaitlynn, Mystic, Elizabeth and Joi. (: Yeap you may not know who or what I'm talking about.

Anyway, to all those out there, hope you enjoyed your Christmas! ^^

Ignore my crazy outburst in the previous post c:

I was thinking about concentrating harder on my homework. So I'll play the computer in the morning before going to the National Library at Esplanade to do my homework. No idea what made me choose that location. Tuition homework is seriously....gah. Especially Chinese. need to memorise what 谚语，成语，…… and Maths tuition kills me kay. The teacher gave me 20+ pages to do. I'll start memorising my school homework of 70 成语 starting tomorrow, 7 terms-a-day. For those who have completed all their holiday homework, good for you then. (:

We went to VIVOcity to go to this BOSSES restaurant, a chinese restaurant my mum saw on television which said that their Durian Moochi was delicious. So brace yourselves...this post will be more of a food review xD Or maybe not. I'll try not to.

While waiting for the food to come and enjoying the harbour-front view(it took quite some time, especially the last one) i thought it was a tad bit too quiet so I decided to break the silence. Seems like the only person who could catch up with the conversation is my mum. The maid was always non-reponsive, even when given orders. I was like "Okay I command you to speak to me" and she just smiled -_-. The previous maid was more ... animated. :D My brother does respond by saying "shut up" (LOL) while my dad "oh...*looks away*". So the best candidate still ends with mum. '_'

I only highlight a few of the food that made quite an impact. I first ate the white egg tart, an egg tart that's white instead of yellow. It's like biting into white opaque jelly that's very wobbly and soft and melts in your mouth. I'm not joking. :D Unlike other egg tarts I've eaten before, it has a very delicate feel to it. The xiao long bao has soup inside it, so when you bite into it the soup flows into your mouth. it's like eating soup dumplings. The No.1 Bun is probably one of the most popular one in the restaurant. The outer layer is slightly crisp, and there's warm creamy egg yolk inside which flows freely when the outer layer is broken. The filling is the best part of it. Other than this mini dian xin, I chose to eat the LaMian Preserved Vegetable Dumpling. The noodles are made on the spot and therefore very fresh. It could almost be eaten on it's own. The last one was the Durian Mochi That was the one we came for. It's practically eating melted marshmallow cream with a soft/stretchy cotton like texture. Try baking marshmallows over burning charcoal till they turn brown, not black, and the outside is crisp while inside is creamy melted filling. Yeah something like that.

Okay enough of food review.

After that we went to Converse to buy my new school bag. I didn't really prefer bright, showy, or girly designs so I just opted for boring grey and black with a purple tint. Match my boring black pencil box too. lol. For the prize money for Eagle/Scholarship award my bro decided to use it to buy computer games. It's wasted okay. Now he's playing counter-strike at full volume with the gun banging and all that. Now my peace and quiet is over. T.T

I went overseas! For a mere 1 night stay that is...
Actually it isn't really a proper holiday.
Just a visit to my sibling who is having tennis training abroad in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. :D But things got sour...=x so in the end we convinced him to leave early. No refund though.

We started out by waiting at PJ Hilton. A really nice hotel it is. It was just a waiting spot for the coach to fetch us so we need not check in or anything. But with our luggage we appeared to be guests who has just checked out. Hahas. The assistant manager was like 'Why got 2 people lounging around the basement?' and approached us asking 'Have you just checked out?". Mum was playing around and pretended to be guests who have stayed in the hotel. Hahas. We shopped around in a nearby shopping centre (there wasn't much to shop actually ). While waiting we had some snacks at the hotel. I ate a fish and chips sand which which was HUGE. At the buffet area there was this stack of glasses in a pyramid with pink creamy things flowing from it. Like a pink fountain. After further clarification we found that it was actually a machine which mix and froth white chocolate with fruits like strawberry. Interesting.

We were fetched to the tennis coach house (that's the "accommodation"). Got to know more of their family. Their son married to a Japanese and their daughter to a Caucasian. The whole family seems to be made of sportsmen/women. There was this shelf full of trophies and medals (mainly earned by the daughter). We got to see their granddaughters as well. A girl toddler (My, she speaks so eloquently for a 2 year old) and a baby. My mum was bobbing the baby up and down and we found that this makes her laugh and gurgle. I didn't dare carry her because the last time I carried a baby, I dropped her (don't worry it's a soft landing) and we both cried. Haha. That was when I was a young toddler who knows nothing about such dangers.

I did practically nothing in the house. Just sit there doing my Maths tuition homework and reading Eclipse for the fifth time (lol I know I'm obsessed. xD ). After I finished those I had nothing else to do so I just sat on the couch like a couch potato and watched the television. Phew at least there was a subscription to the starhub. . . . so I could watch English Chanel's. I learnt about the outer space. One day every single one of us humans will split apart. Even the protons that built up atoms will split apart too. Space will become a dark, vacant place. Yup everything will be back to its basic form. Nothing denser than iron like zinc will exist. Because space is speeding up the rate of its expansion. There wouldn't be a big crunch. Just a place that is continuously expanding.

Our trip back home was the one that got interesting. We flagged a taxi to a place where we could have last minute booking of coaches. For a price of 30 to Johor was expensive, compared to the one we booked in advance. There were very few people aboard so we had most of the space to ourselves. I survived by eating Cocoa crunch white/dark chocolate throughout the way. And oh talking almost non-stop throughout the way too. I couldn't sleep. When we arrived at the bus station we had to haggle with a taxi driver who wouldn't on his meter for the price to the Malaysia customs. When we arrived we had to wait for our father to drive all the way to the Malaysian customs to fetch us. The return trip was exhausting. (But I still wouldn't sleep lol). We arrived home to an ecstatic Banana who wagged her till as if she had gone hysterical. o.o Yeah end of story.

We went shopping today! :)

My mum had $150 worth of Takashimya shopping vouchers. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't had gone to Orchard. Instead of taking a car, we decided to take the public transport - MRT. save the Earth; Save Singapore

During the journey I was chattering about Lee Young Ae, Ji Jin-hee, Kyeon Mi-ri. An evil person can be so nice and hilarious in real-life too. Hahas. And good news to all Twilight lovers, 'caus there's an upcoming Twilight movie! :) The Bella's not exactly what I expected but her achievements in her career makes a good candidate too. Experience in so many sectors required for the movie. (: Can't wait to see who's playing the role of Edward. There will be very high expectations from the looks 'caus of all that description in the book which makes him appear to be more of a godlike creature. Hmm anyway he's a vampire not human.

Yeah so we went shopping around for goodies. (: Had those popular treats like vanilla cream puff and Takomochi (those octopus balls). Guess what my lunch was? Bread and muffins and abalone macadamia nuts. Isn't what you call a proper lunch but hey, at least I had some fill. (: The lady who sold the walnuts, almonds, macadamia, ...etc. more nuts has a really cute voice. (: And we went to cold storage just to buy two cans of juice 'caus the thirst was overwhelming. We didn't bring any water bottles along see.

Had a mini shopping spree. I bought a very dull black pencil box which surprisingly cost me $17.
Got some stuff for watercolour. Watercolour A4 size paper was on the list 'caus my current one is too small. Only A5 size. Pencils were another essential as well. It' perplexing how stationary like pencils, sharpeners and rubber always mysteriously disappear in our house. And the Pablo colour pencils cost a staggering $45. Another larger set of 40 colours cost $100 +++. (no wonder Mrs Goh said she spent hundreds on those colour pencil sets) Mum found this monokuro files and notebook. :) The make-up sold's really expensive too, so she ended up buying only an eyeliner and lip gloss.

That's how $150 worth of shopping vouchers flew away. ~
And how our legs started to ache. ~

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY YUEQI!!!

A few days ago a family of Koreans

moved into the house next door :D
There's this 2-year old baby toddler whose so cute.

My dog was barking at him when they first met and the toddler just stood there and smiled at the dog. Haha the way they got acquainted is so cute xD I was afraid that there might be some wailing/squealing or a natural reaction like running away but the he didn't. ---

Today, when I was deeply engrossed in watching one of the (romantic) second last episodes of 大长今, the toddler wondered into our house twice (we usually hold our doors wide open, and yeah, we have no gates). You could imagine how engrossed I was 'caus I didn't notice this till the mum apologised. ---

Oh and when my brother was about to bring Banana for a walk they gave us a red Christmas T-Shirt for the pet. It smelt of baby powder but Banana seems to like the smell. I wonder what happens if she has puppies next time and found their smell particularly interesting.

But maybe a few months after they moved in we'll have to move out to another place. We found a paticularly nice spot in Bishan which has a little park with a river (kinda') that leads to the Bishan Park. (: Great place for Banana to roam about and explore the new scents. She'll be thrilled. There's already some nice renovations done and the balcony has a great view. Can't wait. Although I'm a lil' afraid that I might lost some things in my secret meaning place (I had since 3 years old hahas) while shifting those furniture. It'll turn a teeny weeny chaotic. We have some junk we'll never use.

Lunch today was at Imperial Court Shark’s Fin Restaurant in Grassroot's Club, beside Nanyang Polytechnic. Together with our paternal grandparents.

While we were in the midst of tucking into our meal, another family suddenly started singing Happy Birthday song in Chinese. Woah. Who's the birthday boy/girl/lady/gentleman. So lucky.

Ahem, now back to the the Chinese restaurant we went today. (Raey, don't worry about the restaurant's name, we didn't order shark's fin soup). We didn't start the meal immediately, got to wait for grandparents to eat first). We had fish, fresh prawns, red bean soup, tofu soup, noodles, fried rice, dumplings, mushrooms with broccoli...etc. Very Chinese. I soon felt bloated that I couldn't eat much more, so I just stopped eating. Not that I wanted to waste such good food. My grandparents, naturally, wanted me to try at least everything and kept placing more food on my plate. I didn't really touch it 'caus I did feel really full, so my brother, who was in an unusually good appetite today, ate the food. The adults chatted while we remained quiet. After we payed the bill, we went back home via public transport. My grandparents were drive home in our car with my dad being the "special" chauffeur.

As I'm typing now, I'm thinking of something I'll need to do later. Immediately: Write "I will greet my NCOs in future" 100 times. (Our squad forgot to greet the NCOs yesterday during Orientation preparation, and doing push-ups doesn't seem to make us remember this, so we are required to write it down) It's not a big sum, nor small sum, but in the end, I hope my hand wouldn't ache. At least I have a chance to practice english calligraphy. :D

Had my Art Lesson today! :)
The teacher gave me a picture of rabbits drawn using colour pencil medium. Something like the above shown. I was expected to produce a replica of it using 2B pencil.

At first, I was like O.O
Impossible
How can I even produce the fur texture. :/
I suddenly understood what people mean by 'inferiority complex"
'Caus I'm experiencing it then. Haha.

Started with body proportion. Without that, it would appear like an improper fraction. Head big, torso tiny, legs gigantic. Or so as I interpret it. I bet I'm going to draw a giant lollipop with 2 ears and buck tooth.

Next there's the shading. Started with base shading. Without base shading the drawing will appear like snow white with insufficient Vitamin D. Or an ever-pale vampire! That's interesting.

Followed by mid tones and highlights. A more tedious process because there's so much white, black, and grey in varying shades on the rabbit. Took up a good amount of time.

Lastly it's the adding the fur texture . It isn't as difficult as it seems. As long as you applied the correct shading. :) Just light/long/thick/thin/short lines overlapping each other.

And another thing. I'm in a dilemma whether smudging is good for you. I mean, the drawing. in DHS, it says that it will make the drawing appear 2D. But right now I'm told that it's okay as long as it's applied using the correct technique.

I've spent the last 3 days waking up at 7a.m. or earlier just to finish reading Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. Weird. I've never done that before. =s I can't wait for Breaking Dawn.

The Last Day of School

Today, is the day where we got back our year-end results.
The day, where YueQi's time for departure to Canada has came.
A time which will leave every single one of us Beltrixians there with mixed emotions.
{My eyes are brimming with tears, but my lips crack into a smile

A slight smile perhaps, for results :)

The teachers finally acknowledged us of our year-end results enclosed in a black leather-like report book. In my opinion, I could have done better. :( It is a satisfying one that could please my parents, but I missed my target by 0.03%. Disappointing. (I've disclosed it indirectly, if you please) History was as expected, which I hope will be maintained. The rest of the subjects was quite alright.

I'll still work much harder next year. And try harder to manage my time, which has been a bit out of hand since Primary 6, where all the stress come piling in. I'll try my best to improve my Chinese. Maybe reading Chinese newspaper will help? My Chinese composition, the thing which I rely heavily on to pull up my marks, was 'bit disappointing during the EOYs. No tears, but nevertheless, I'll try to choose the correct topic and stick close to the requirements. :)

Thanks to my parents who decided to buy me Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse as a reward. Love Stephenie Meyer.

Class partaye rawks. Well, kind'a. Made a din by the poolside and got banned. wtf
Got to resort to spending almost the whole time in the function room playing indoor games.
Eileen's condo is a maze, if you know what I mean. Got lost while finding the way out. Even the males became Lost Boys of Neverland with Peter Pan. Amazing.

Wacko, Twister and Pinata were fun. Just one of my favorites. :)

Wacko
Hilarious game where someone goes around wacking people's heads. Okay, it's not literally. The class gathers in a circle like this:

The people of the outer circle are supposed to protect those in the inner circle. The person in the centre is supposed to go around hitting people's heads (using empty water bottle, in our case). The game starts when someone (of the outer circle) shouts out a friend's name (in the inner circle). The person (in the centre) is then supposed to hit the one who's name is called. But before the person of the inner circle could be hit, the one (of the outer circle) is supposed to shout another's friend's name. This continues till the centre person successfully hits someone. The person hit(inner circle) will then become the "wacker" and is replaced by the (outer circle) mate. The outer circle will then be replaced by the ex-"wacker".

If you got it. (doubt it) Good. If not, forget it.

Twister
First time playing. And I've got to admit, I love it as soon as I played it.

There is a twister mat with 24 circles of four different colours: blue, red, yellow, green. On the twister spinner, there are 16 circles shaped like numbers of your average household clock. They are arranged in a big circle, and divided into four portions(left foot, right foot, right hand, left hand) with 4 small circles each. Each circle represents the colour: GREEN, RED, YELLOW, BLUE. Someone spins it and when the the it points towards a small circle, for example, a blue circle in the "right hand" portion, the player is supposed to place his/her right hand on a blue circle print on the huge mat. The fun thing is that it requires you to twist and turn in order to reach different circles. Fun yeah?

Pinata
Our Pinata was very special. It was hand made by Dawn. Wow.
We're supposed to hit the Pinata, kind'a like a balloon with sweets inside. Weird thing is, no matter how hard we try, we didn't break the Pinata. We just dented the Pinata. In the end, Yiching tore it open and scattered the sweets all over.

I'll do some reminiscing of our post-exam activities

JUGGLING
Instructed by proffesional jugglers who juggle for a living. They know how to joke, don't they?
Heard that the shortest time his student manage to successfully juggle was within 13minutes. If my memory isn't wrong. Started with 1 ball, 2 balls, then 3 balls. All I got to say is that juggling would turn out disastrous for me. I ended up catching balls, rather than juggling balls.

DIABOLO
Was nothing but funfunfun! :D
It's like this giant yoyo thingy which your control using a pair of chopsticks linked with a string.

We started our with learning how to spin the diabalos.
Start spinning diabolos --> Start throwing diabolos into the air --> twisting diabolos sideways

;) Just a few tricks we learnt.

SKIPPING
The sun was scorching and we were dead-beat learning under the heat while sitting on floors of burning coals. Hahas. The instructors moved too fast (in my opinion) and I didn't have time to successfully grasp one skill and they immediately moved on to another. Time limit see.
We learnt correct technique of skipping --> front loop --> back loop --> side loop. That's all I remember. (Names are highly inaccurate. Please note.

HIP-HOP DANCING
Coached by hip-hop dancers (2 malay males + 1 chinese lady) The beat got us into it and everyone was soon getting it. Steps were real simple, but the problem is that I don't have that "hip-hop" style. Unlike Pearl from 1C. She proved her dancing skills during Primary 5 camp. She was real amazing. :)

STREET OPERA
Learnt different characters of the chinese opera in NAPFA:

生(male roles) = 小生(young man) + 武生(courageous man) + 老生(old man)
旦(female roles) = 花旦(young girls) + 青衣(ladies) + 刀马旦(agile girl warriors) + 老旦(old ladies)
净(painted face) = 黑脸 + 红脸+ 白脸
丑(clowns) = 文丑 + 武丑

Then a few performers from 1A and 1B were chosen to act out the Chinese Opera. The main characters were to recite some lines they memorised in an exaggerated manner while doing those moves. Chinese Opera often exaggerate movements to signify different meanings, and the make-up and dressing can take up to 2 hours. Depends on the character. For example, 花旦 wear elaborate head dressings. It ended with performers perform a story from both sides: 1 team from 1A + 1B and another from 1C+1E.

-our first post-exam activity-

The activities set up for us today was really fun! :)

It was to create awareness about how people with disabilities felt and what sufferings they had to overcome to continue keeping that smile on their face. To not brood over such matters but move on and lead a happy one.

A Caucasian lady with disabilities talked about her experiences in daily life.

She was a survivor of spinal cancer, in which only 3% of victims survive. She can move her left hands and feet normally, but being partilly paralysed, she could not feel a thing when injured on her left side. That was why she had 2 tattoos on her left arm and shoulder. It was a pain-less experience. It was really interesting to hear about it. She leads a really active life, even playing sports like golf, basketball, tennis, snow-gliding and many more sports one would find almost impossible to be achieved. She also holds two world records and weight lifting, and could lift a weight of near 400kg. Her wheel chair was custom-made for her, and cost a whooping $10 000. It had wheels that could be adjusted at an angle to enable her to spin around and move faster easily when she plays sports. It was astonishing to find that she didn't stop her disability from leading a normal life. In fact, she leads a much more active life than the ordinary.

We proceeded to play many games in which we were made temporarily disabled. For example, there was blind-soccer, where participants are blindfolded with a strap of black plastic and with the aid of another partner who wasn't blindfolded, they were to play the game soccer. We were also required to fold paper aeroplanes, write words, and catch plastic balls half-blindfolded. Another game was to hold a paint brush with your feet and write a Chinese character, 龍，on paper using red paint.

The activity which almost everyone enjoyed the most involves the use of wheelchairs.

Participants of up to 6 people for each team are to move around using wheelchairs only. Each team choose one person to hold a bucket. Members of the opposite team are to roll the wheelchairs and try to get as close to this person before throwing a plastic ball inside the bucket. Each ball which gets into the bucket equals to points for the team. Rolling the wheelchair was tiring, but really fun. Especially when everyone was chasing the person holding the bucket. Hahas. He/She must had a hard time trying to prevent so many plastic balls entering the bucket and rolling the wheelchairs as fast as they could to get away from the others trying to throw the plastic balls. Love those wheelchairs. Hahas.

PSLE's Maths is a killer, or as I heard. Some parents even wrote in to The Straits' Times forums. I'll not elaborate much on that. :)

Jalan Kayu Roti Prata

We went there for their well-known Roti Prata last night. We hadn't had supper as a family for quite some time. Due to my EOYs and my brother's PSLE. But since it's over now, we decided have supper outdoors. We had roti prata with mutton curry and curry chicken. A bit of a disappointment though. The roti prata was not as crispy as before although the curry remained fragrant. But it was delicious all the same. :)

The American Club

My 12 year old brother paired up with a 40 year old Joey to participate in inter-club tennis tournament. It's open to all age groups so everyone, whether adult or child, can participate in the tournament. It's a doubles match on synthetic-grass court. It seems that the material was not what my brother was used to in playing tennis, therefore he didn't play his best. It was drizzling and that made the court even slipperier.

The American Club was only opened to all-American members, so it was a privilege to be able to enter the place. The entrances and exits were strictly under security's control, and there was even (handsome, according to my brother, hahas) guards armed with real guns standing at the doors. The place was known to be very luxurious. Indeed, it could compare to a 5-star, even 6-star hotel.

There was this store that sells gifts, food and toys. We wanted to buy some food but realised that it was opened to only American members. (Not surprisingly), my mother, right in front of the cashier's eyes, asked a member to help her buy the food. I sneaked away. Hahas.

After that we proceeded to the vet to vaccinate Banana but realised it was closed. It ended up as a long and tiring walk for her. It's a sad thing that she has grown fat. (Last time, she had a perfect hourglass figure, very nice okay, according to the vet)

Geography was interesting. as usual. did a practice of topographic map reading with Isabel to refresh that rusty mind of ours. It indeed needed some oiling. 'cause some people (like me) forgot what is "compass bearing", let alone meausuring it with the correct technique.
Mathematics involves the class sitting and spending almost the whole supplementary lesson trying to crack their brains to work out a challenging worksheet. After supplementary, I still don't get it. My Maths will be doomed doomed doomed doomed doomed doomed doomed doomed.

After supplementary class was a 2-hour break where I spent watching our class netball team playing netball ~~which was actually supposed to be a joyful affair but ended up quite the opposite)~~ and learnning to play xiang qi. XiaoJun became the coach of Grace and I. So we played that game for around 1hour. This is who versus who during the game: [Me vs Grace] --> [Me vs Xiaojun] --> [Me ws Grace] --> [Me vs Marcus] -->[Crystal vs Marcus ]

Mooncake Festival celebration!!!

1st Activity: Pamelo ... competition?

YuWei represented our class to take part in this competition. We were seated in the parade square with a row of canteen tables lined with plates of 2 pameloes each. 1 plate for 1 class. It involves participantd to tear both pameloes with bare hands and tear them into nice slices. The one who accomlishes this task first is the winner! Our class got to eat a untorn pameloes after that. hahahehe. bitter-sweet experience of eating pameloes. xD After that we got to eat mooncakes. I ate one with a red-bean filing with a white outer-skin. when lucky, we will find a piece of paper inside. I didn't. So unlucky.

2nd acticity: Concert!

We moved up to the concert hall for the concert (under the moonlight...or not). I wasn't really paying much attention because I was engrossed in a conversation. I'll state a few events though. The concert started with the DHSCO (Chinese orchestra) playing the gu zheng instrument. followed by 2 people talking humor involving the Chang E. It was stated that in order to make her once ugly face turn beautiful, she consumed a whole bottle of beauty pills to see immediate effect. but she realised it made her even uglier so in a fit of pique, she slapped herself repeatedly. The slaps was the thing that made her beautiful. Yup I kow this story is kind of ... And the last activity was a question and answer session involving the mooncake festival. Followed by...going back home!

I went home via MRT. haha was the last one to leave the classroom. Was accompanied by Zhang Rui to the MRT station because she lives around the area. Chatted about AEP, ghost stories, the celebration, school, jokes...etc.

I left at 8.50pm. reached home at 11.00pm. My back was aching. Because I was carrying my heavy school bag throughout the whole journey as the MRT was really crammed with passengers. argh.

Wondering what my next 5 years in Dunman High will be like. ._.? Must work harder then ever now EOYs (end of year exams) are around the corner. Science, Geography and History will require real tedious revision. I can't remain oblivious to my weakest subjects: Maths and Chinese. . .and I hope my History will remain my best subject. The difference in the scores of my subjects are too large to be ignored.

It's empty. And I have only 11 more days to fill it up.

Seating Arrangement

To allow us to be ready for our upcoming EOY seating arrangement, our dear Lin Lao Shi decided to change our seats to the arrangement of our examination seat. Although there's leniency: people are allowed to change theirs seats and tables remain joint in pairs.

For me, it's greatly beneficial:

I can ask my partner straightaway when in doubt
More efficient discussion can take place
Arouse more interest in lessons
New information shared among partners
And so on. I just cannot think of it.

I'm sitting next to Isabel, right at the back, while Ronghui and Dawn are right in front of me. Dawn's ambition seems to be able to enter SOTA (school of the arts) because she keeps scrambling the words all over her handbook. Hey, have a Dunmanian heart. I will be so happy if I entered SOTA too but Dunman High rawks all the same. Malay lessons today are of great help as there is discussion among ourselves and I seem to learn more. Dawn's knowledge of Malay astounds me. Wow.

NPCC Service Day

My first service for the DHSNPCC unit!!!

Role: To educate the public about crime prevention

Job: Distribute brochures containing tips about crime prevention

Venue: HDB clocks near the Tanjong Rhu DHS campus

So this was my first "service" for the DHSNPCC unit. we were to go in groups of four, two year twos and two year ones. It happened that I was the only girl in the group. -.- But Teng Da was very fun and cute to talk to. Haha. Tiny. We divided ourselves into 2 groups to speed up the work.

There was one household which refused the brochures since everything was written in English and apparently he did not know how to read those words.

another old lady was warning us about some strangers when we were supposed to be the ones educating her about crime prevention.

Another complained to us about someone spoiling her floor and ceilings by blackening them with smoke when it was a public area, not her house.

Another spoke Cantonese or hokkien so we had no means in trying to communicate with the fella' in English or Chinese.

One even saw us in our NPCC uniforms and said jokingly "You want to catch me then catch me lah" o.o

Another was only in his shirt and underpants. lucky was an old man. still, I didn't dare look. haha. Derek was laughing his head off when we left. I am a girrrl. -.-

It was a series of bizarre sights. This was the most enjoyable trip I had so far with the DHSNPCC unit. I broke my record. I spoke to so many new people in one day. hehe.

The Mathematics common test today somewhere hovering between difficult and moderate. The last page was sort of a complexity too much for the mind to understand. I didn't even realise that the sums I did made no sense. 5 marks flew away like I didn't care.

I did care.

So I shall bid a solemn goodbye to an A(+) and be prepared to face something like a B or a C.

AEP's workload tripled:

1) Sculpture of recycled materials with functionality (60% CA2 marks)

2) Lion coin bank-painting competition (compulsory, bonus to CA2 marks)

3) IRCC logo design competition (not compulsory, bonus)

I'm racking my brains on designing the sculpture. Researching for more details. seems that I happen to come across a "drawing" block. And there goes more of my money when I purchase the set of acrylic paints. There goes my revision time. wasted. =(

And apparently, tomorrow's NPCC service day.

We'll be going around blocks educating residents in different households about crime-prevention.

How I wish this time is going to be spent on some fruitful revision.

像妈说的，我真的在折磨我自己的身体。

不停的读书，睡眠不足，吃饭也吃得这么少。

有一天一定会昏过去的。

但怎么办呢？考试和读书跟我的健康更重要啊。

[[Principal's speech was really meaningful. But I listened. God. "我们五十年以来建设的形象，应该被保持，而不是在转眼内被毁掉了" Let's don't talk much about this. It makes my sad. according to my parental guardian, I am a naturally (over) sensitive girl anyway. HEH? Really? Maybe.A school's reputation should be upholded by all. Maybe the youngsters nowadays just couldn't care any less. Ah. I board the public bus once in a while.
